Core sampler with real time imaging for collection of intact sediment from submerged bottoms (Application No – 202221055503) 

The sediment core sampler is a compact and detachable tool for collecting intact layers of bottom sediments from ocean, lake, and river water bodies. Here, we have made a sediment sampler for small projects, which cannot afford heavy and costly corers. It is customised for two types of sampling columns, with a one-way valve to prevent cross contamination and a nonporous rubber-coated grip handle to manually push the sample vessel into the ground. The most important details are that the sampling vessel is protected by a metal stand, an industry-grade camera with high-intensity LEDs, and a collection column with markings to visualize the collected column length. Also, the sample collection prototype is rust free and can be used for sampling in shallow waters, deep drainages, wastewater treatment plants, and bioreactor sludge.
